Self-Compassion

Self-Compassion is the act of showing the same care and concern to yourself that you do for others.
Sometimes we are so harsh with ourselves that we can actually decrease our mental and emotional health.
While some components of self-compassion and meditation are emphasized in Eastern religions, self-compassion is also a concept that is discussed in the Bible when Scripture says "there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ."  When we are cruel to ourselves, this is a form of self-condemnation and does not exemplify the freedom Christians  believe comes through Christ.  Whatever your religious beliefs, please watch these videos and use these tools objectively, realizing that self-compassion is necessary for a healthy sense of self as well as for stable mental and emotional well-being.
